The courthouse in Raymond, serving Hinds County, MS, since 1857, underwent a comprehensive restoration and stabilization effort led by CCD. The project encompassed an analysis of existing conditions, programming, architectural design, and construction documents. To ensure effective prioritization, careful estimating was employed, focusing on critical restoration needs first. The exterior received attention, with repairs and replacements of plaster and masonry to match the original historic profiles. Restoration efforts extended to windows, doors, and the cupola. Ironwork was cleaned, and the exterior was repainted. Subsequent phases addressed interior office and courtroom restoration, security enhancements, and updates to HVAC, electrical, and fire protection systems. The cupola received further attention in a third phase of the restoration project.
