The B.B. King Museum honors bluesman B.B. King, telling his life’s story of hardship, perseverance, talent and humility as a way to further the arts, youth development, and racial reconciliation in the Mississippi Delta and beyond. Through its authentic presentation and interactive exhibits, performance venues and educational programming, the B. B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center seeks to honor King’s life, preserve Delta Blues heritage, encourage and inspire young artists and musicians, and use the arts to enrich the lives of Delta youth and all those who visit the museum campus.
As the principal Architect, CCD worked with museum planning and exhibit designers Gallagher & Associates to bring this vision to life through the renovation and restoration of a historically signification structure in B.B.’s life and the construction of the museum and exterior spaces. Located in Indianola, Mississippi, the museum has been a valuable addition to the community and its economic prosperity.
