The design style of Fondren Village was inspired by the fifty’s service station which now serves as the home of the Everyday Gardener. A new sign was built to pay homage to the fifty’s style, while existing structures were renovated to unify the center and tie into the sign. Public walk areas were enhanced with planters, benches, and trash receptacles chosen to be consistent with the fifty’s period. The walk also has a neon band that runs the length of the center, highlighting columns and adding character to the period theme. Tenant signage standards were adopted to unify the image of the center. The renovation of Fondren Village jump started growth and rejuvenation in the historic Fondren District.
